What new thing would you like to try?

It's Monday again. I hope everyone had a great weekend. We had a little bit of snow Saturday, enough to make everyone get excited but it didn't last. It melted as fast as it fell. They are calling on more rain today and tomorrow. So lots of time for me to sit with my knitting, crocheting or something and watch some TV. Sounds like a great plan to me.

What is that one thing you have not tried yet but you would like to? Maybe your scared to because your afraid you can't. Maybe finances are holding you back, or you just haven't bit the bullet yet and just did it.

I would like to learn to do resin crafts. Jewelry, paperweights, etc. I have seen some beautiful things made with resin. But where do you start? It seems to be a lot to learn and a big learning curve. What type of resin do you use? Do you want quick drying? What is the whole process with any type resin. Some has to have a lot of ventilation because of the fumes. So I don't think it is something you would want to do right now while it is to cold to open windows or go out side to pour. Where do you get your supplies? I have looked at Walmart and Hobby Lobby. They both have a small amount but nothing really great.

Do you have any experience with resin pouring? What are some tips you could give us if you have?

Most of my experience has been with fiber arts, crocheting, knitting, cross stitch, etc. I do like to sew and I have did some quilting. I have did alterations for prom dresses and tux. Made and altered dress costumes as well. My kids say that I have to many things that I like to do. I say no they are wrong. Because when I get tired of knitting, and I do sometimes, then I just start sewing or crocheting. If I get tired of that then I do something else. I always have a number of projects going at one time. And way more yarn than I need.

I think I get my craftiness from my mother. She always liked to sew. She used to make us clothes. She made us prom and wedding dresses. She did some painting for a while.

So lets step out of our comfort zone and try those things that we have thought about but have never done. I am going to do some resin pouring one of these days. Maybe once it warms up and I can go outside I will give it a try. I see a post on this topic in my future.

I hope you all have a wonderful Monday and get lots of crafting done.
